Oh those voices!!! 😵‍💫 Mine’s like: you’re useless, doing too many things and nothing well.

Thanks, always, for the real & juicy reads, I love you Carley!

Thank you for this!!! I’ve got to say I’ve never tried this but was kind of fascinated by the way a trainer for hardcore athletes — professionals — gave his clients lines to memorize and have ready to zoom in when the devilish morose and dastardly ooze forth with their sludge. I’m not saying anything about it one way or the other. Just thought: Wow! Superstar professional athletes need this kind of embedded armor. I definitely “connected” with the Let’s escape; and I.C.E. (Separate category in its own hell cauldron). All of it. Including you ought to have already why haven’t you …..

I wish you the bestest health possible and good sleep and pleasureful times. I often want to ask people, “How do you make through the day?” Sending love and joy your way, Carley❤️

Thanks for reading and commenting! I’m not sure who you are but I appreciate you! 😀

Yes I think this can work. EMDR is very much about rewriting the scripts in our heads and changing these narratives we have around trauma.

So thankful to you for being honest about the bully that is depression. I keep wondering if there is a strategy for laughing at the dumb shit it tells us and pointing out we are onto its lies. I also really believe in EMDR although it feels weird and woo-woo the first time you try it. It wouldn’t surprise me if doing it might stir up its cruelty and meanness. Keep going, Carley. I am clearly not the only person listening to you.

Hi Cynthia! Thanks for reading and responding! I appreciate your thoughts here ❤️❤️❤️❤️. Depression is definitely a bully we should laugh at, and I’m hoping EMDR will get me closer to that. It is kind of mysterious and woo to begin with (the EMDR) and it does seem to kick up these thoughts again as I try to move out of them at the same time. Writing about them also seems to help because to see them on the page and screen is to see how ridiculous they are.

I hear you, dear Carley--and feel with you. And I *believe* in the person you are always making, becoming.

Carley Moore's avatar

Thank you dear Bruce. It’s really nice to hear this from you and to remember that we are always making and becoming as people.

Bruce Bromley's avatar

A resounding yes to that making and becoming, even though both are sometimes so fraught!
